As of late I have a new addiction. Craft and Food blogs. I stumbled upon this website while voting for my favorite blogger The Pioneer Woman in the 2008 Bloggies. In some ways it's hard for me to admit that I admire PW so much since she has such a large following. I really don't want to be just one of the flock, but she's an interesting lady and she has amazing photography skills. What can I say?
Angry Chicken opened up a new world for me. It introduced me to The Emmeline and Tie One On and even though I have not worn an apron in my entire adult life, all of the sudden, I found myself desperately desiring to find patterns for these lovely aprons so I could make them. Not to mention that my sewing skills consist of a simple straight stitch. I've pieced together a couple quilt tops, but have never finished them since I don't know how to put the backing on or do the binding or the actual quilting. Will someone take me on as their apprentice? See, I know my mom knows her way around the sewing machine as do several of my aunts, but they don't live close by. I think I could wrangle up someone from church too, but have never followed through with planning a time to work on something. So I guess I'll need to be a little more proactive about that. Now that I have a few projects in mind maybe I'll be able to schedule something. I have this problem though with wanting to do all sorts of things and then never taking the time to do them. I really need to remedy that.
Anyway, while looking at all the aprons that various people had made and submitted to the flickr site, I realized that most of them had blogs too! And then there are even more links on everyone else's blogs to even more blogs. Thus my new addiction. These people are all amazing. They do photography, crafts, cooking - you name it. They are artistic and talented and right now I only dream of how I might develop a smidgen of their ingeniousness. Also then many of them sell the things they make on their Etsy Shops. I am enthralled.
So once a get some papers organized - well, I take that back, it might only really get better after we move and get re-settled, but I'm going to be a craftin' fool. Or something...
I'll add links to the sidebar for some of my favorites sites so far.

I share your love for cute aprons. I first fell in love when I saw some at Anthropologie. I bought a little girl one and it is hanging in Miranda's room. I have fabric I got from a lady at church that I have been wanting to make into aprons for Miranda and I. I think I just need to jump in and start practicing! I think it is the only way I will learn and it can't be THAT difficult right? It's just an apron;o)I can't wait to see what you make!!!
