In spite of being a world traveler, I have only just in the last few years been introduced to gyros and falafels - probably because most of my travels have been in Asia. I suppose I'm being introduced to very American versions of these so it doesn't really count as 'foreign' food. We have a greek restaraunt here in town and then also just tried out or local King Gyros the other day (it's quite the hole in wall but with pretty tasty gyros). I play Bunco with a group of girls once a month and last year one of them made falafels that were really delicious. More recently I found a Pampered Chef cookbook with a recipe for Turkey Gyros that I decided to try. I had actually made them once before and wasn't sure that we absolutely loved them, but Scott requested that I make them again the other night and they were scrumptious. Now all I need is a good pita bread recipe. We got pitas from the store and warmed them up with butter in a skillet, but they were still a little tough.

Xavier and I came down with a bit of a cold yesterday and are feeling sort of miserable. Xavier is too young to know how to blow his nose and he hates when I use the bulb syringe so that's no fun either way. But other than that he's doing really well. He's eating some 'solids' - aka purees. He has rolled from front to back a few times, but still doesn't really do it with purpose yet. He sits pretty well by himself. Although, when he falls over he doesn't know how to push himself back up or anything so he just lays there with his arms pinned beneath him. It's a pretty funny sight to see. Here he is modeling a t-shirt Scott's boss gave to us. It came from Kitt Peak where the telescope is that they work with in Tuscon, Arizona. It looked like a pretty big shirt, but with a long sleeve onesie on underneath it's a little tight already.

Oh AND I just recently signed up with Discovery Toys. So if you're in Indiana and looking for some free toys, contact me and we'll get you all set up to host a show. I'd heard of Discovery Toys growing up but don't remember if we really had any of their toys. So they've been around for quite a few years and have some really great toys. I'll have to get a picture with Xavier and one of our favorites at this point in his development. It's called the 'super yummy' and is a wonderful teething toy. We'll work up to some other ones soon.
