We woke up today to a half snow day that ended up being extended to a full day by about 11 am. I guess the county declared a snow emergency so they could get all the roads cleared. By the time we wandered out around noon, the roads were pretty well cleared. We just had to dig out of our driveway. Ah, the joys of homeownership. :) I'm not complaining though. I'd prefer shoveling out once or twice per winter rather than scraping off my car every stinkin' day.
The dogs frolicked a bit today, but couldn't really do too much in 12 inches of snow. I don't think Tobey is quite 12 inches tall... so he was pretty much swimming in it, bouncing here and there. We had let them run around in the back yard early Tuesday night when there was a bit less snow and they seemed to enjoy that. By this morning all the tracks we had made in the snow out back were all covered up and a fresh smooth clean layer of snow blanketed the yard instead.
I took a couple pictures. This one is taken out our back door to our patio. Normally you have to step down from the door way to get to the patio. I'm sure to all you northerners this is not a big deal, but it's the first big snow we've had for a couple years, so it's pretty exciting stuff.
Ashton is modeling the clumpy snow look. This is what happens when long haired dog fur meets snow. It's impossible to wipe off so they mostly air dry.
