While perusing the web a while back, I came across homemade by jill's car caddy tutorial. I though it was such a cute idea and decided I should make one when Xavier got older. Well X is now getting to the stage where he's starting to play with cars, so I figured I needed to get this done soon. I re-purposed some old torn up jeans to get the denim material and overall it was a pretty easy and quick project. I was nervous about sewing through layers of denim, but it was really no problem.
So far we've been using the new toy at restaurants to keep X entertained. He doesn't really drive the cars on the road much, but he tries to put the cars in the pockets. There are a lot of other people online who have made variations of this and at some point it might be nice to come up with a way to add more road, since the straight line is a little boring, but for now we'll just see how he plays with this and go from there if it seems he needs something more.

Jen, not sure if you set up to receive follow up comments. I haven't been blogging for a while so I didn't see your comment until now. Thanks for the link - I love the quilt. The fabrics are super cute. I'll have to post my table runner and start blogging again. :) Thanks for the reply!
