The Birds

So a couple weekends ago all of the sudden I hear this noise outside. Not a loud crashing or booming but just something a little out of the ordinary. Turns out its thousands of little wings flapping in unison. I look outside and see this massive number of birds in our back yard. Then they fly to the front yard, then the neighbors yard, then back into the old quarry behind us. They weren't really causing any problems, but the sheer number of them was a little overwhelming. I can't figure out where they all came from. Eventually they went away, but I think I've seen them a couple times since then. Only once more in our yard, but I saw them flying overhead today. If you've ever seen that Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds" (which I think I saw only part of on TV once) it makes it all the more freaky.
(by the way, don't you love the awesome scenery in our back yard these days? I'm pretty excited for them to finish developing the area around us, but of course we knew this would be the case when we moved in.)Then of course I have to share a cute doggy picture as well. Tobey loves to cuddle up just about anywhere. Here Scott is lying on his side and Tobey is curled up behind his knees. I thought it was super cute.
Today we tried out a new (to us) restaurant today - A Bloomington original, The Trojan Horse. I can't believe we've never been until today. It was delicious. They serve Greek food, if you couldn't tell from the name. Scott and I both had Gyros. I think next time I'll try the Falafel. One of the girls who hosted Bunco recently made Falafels and got pita bread from the Trojan Horse - it was to die for.
