I haven't made it to any of the county fairs down south here. I fear that I will be disappointed. I've heard that the Elkhart County Fair is one of the biggest and best. It is quite the cultural experience.

County Fair
Ah the Elkhart County 4H Fair. The tastiest bad for you food - hours of family fun. We went for just a couple hours while up in Goshen a couple weekends ago. Mini Donuts, Steak Tips and Mushrooms, ice cream from the Dairy Barn - pure bliss. There was so much more I would have loved to enjoy but it was all my stomach could handle for the evening.

Rhonda, I went to the State fair here in Dallas and it has nothing on the Elkhart County 4-H Fair! The fair here is like walking around a big, noisey, HOT parking lot. The atmosphere just isn't the same. And the deep fried oreos, funnel cakes, and turkey legs don't compare to the mini donuts, elephant ears, and Port-a-Pit. Nothing beats a BIG, small town county fair. (Of course, I could be a little biased.)Your pictures make me homesick!
