Catch Up

So I'd been a bit complainy and grumpy lately, but think it was hormones and bad weather. Well, and because I get stir crazy living in one place too long or not having much change or excitement in my life. I've actually done better than I anticipated working at a desk job day in and day out. I guess because I know it’s temporary. But temporary has been feeling longer and longer lately. I also don’t understand myself because I want change and excitement, but I also want a schedule to follow, time to relax, and a place to call home. Can anyone else relate to this?

But spring is pretty much here and I've got some new motivation to start some new projects. I've been getting organized at home beyond getting dishes and laundry done. I organized piles of paperwork and filed it all and Scott and I worked on getting our accounts organized and a budget planned. So that feels MUCH better. I've also taken a couple short classes through the IT department on XHTML and CSS and hope to use that foundation to teach myself more about creating web pages. I want to develop one for our women's ministry at church and maybe a few others.

I've been taking a seminar series for clericals and recently in one of the discussions on self-esteem we talked about living in the past, present or future and I think that's my problem. I need to live for today and appreciate this season of my life. I get too anxious for when we can have kids or a dog or move somewhere else, but if I'm not happy now I won't be happy living in the present then either. This is one of the great times in life where it's just Scott and me. We have flexible schedules, can do what we want pretty much whenever we want, we have lots of time for just the two of us or hanging out with friends and we live a comfortable life. So with this renewed perspective I am truly enjoying this season of my life.

We recently aquired a new vehicle - a CR-V! It's a '99 so not too old, but older than our car, so we should be pretty close to paying our vehicle off once we sell our car if we can get what we want for it. Yaay! We went camping with the CRV just after we got it a few weeks ago. Yes we are crazy. It was cold. But it is much nicer for packing everything in and driving on back roads and through streams that cross those roads. Now it just needs to warm up a tad more and then it will be perfect. We might need to get one of those air matresses too... we were so sore from sleeping on the ground... does this make us old?
