I decided to embellish my plain white tab top curtain in the guest room. I bought some fabric to make a basket liner for this project, but decided I liked it better as an accent fabric for my guest room. It didn't take much, just hemmed a rectangle as wide as the curtain, and then tacked it down just under each tab on the curtain with a couple stitches. Then made a tie back to match. I kinda like it I think. Doesn't take much to add a little extra 'happy'.
I got the bean bag chair my son is sitting in from a friend's garage sale for ten bucks. So now I have a nice little reading nook that I've always wanted. Someday I see the reading nook being somewhat different with a built in bench and bookshelf maybe in a dormer window or a nice comfy chair to sit in. But for now, it's just right. X sits there and reads sometimes while I'm folding laundry and it keeps him occupied for a few minutes. I'm sure you know that the guest room bed is the perfect landing spot for laundry when guests aren't around. It's a bit unfortunate how convenient it is since it ends up sitting there slightly too long. I'm a little surprised that my husband still asks if there are clean socks before looking on the guest room bed first...
