He wasn't quite back up to his birth weight by his two week doctor's appointment so we went back in for a weight check another two weeks later and he was up to 10 pounds 2 ounces, so he's growing as he should be and is healthy - for which we're very grateful!
We're loving having Xavier here and have enjoyed time with the new grandparents as well who are all completely enamored with their first grandchild. My mom and dad found it hard to say goodbye and know that it's going to be another year before they see him again. And Scott's parents are finding every excuse possible to make the 4 hour drive down here to spend more time with him. He's a great motivator for traveling! Our brothers also made the trip and enjoyed meeting Xavier, but are a little unsure so far of what to do with such a small baby. I'm sure they'll have lots of fun with him as he gets a little older and more interactive.
I decided to quit my job and so am officially unemployed as of Oct 2nd - or rather have new employers - my husband and son. :) It's quite the change being home all day rather than going in to work each day. I am still working on getting a schedule going and feeling productive every day. Of course when you're feeding an infant every few hours it cuts down on the time available for housework, but caring for baby is what I'm here for. And a productive day is a day that Xavier has been well taken care of - a full tummy, clean diaper and lots of sleep and cuddle time.
We appreciate your prayers for us as we adjust to this change in our lives. It is a wonderful, but also challenging time and we need lots of wisdom for the days and years to come.

What a sweet baby! He's a cutie and I'm glad to see you're adjusting okay ... and enjoying having your feet back. I totally know what that's like! I felt like my ankles looked anorexic because I had forgotten just what they could look like without being held down with water-weight. Congrats on quitting your job to stay at home. It's a tough decision, but it sounds like you are happy with the one you made. I look forward to seeing you at Bunko this month!
What a great post. ;) You're such a great mom with such a good attitude about all the changes. So glad you're just enjoying cuddling Xavier and accepting your new role with tiny little boss now. I stressed a lot trying to get Daniel on a schedule and now I just try to enjoy each day and be a little more relaxed about things. Now I think as long as the kids as much in their tummies as they want to eat, as much sleep as they can take and lots of smiles and cuddles and chances to explore this bright new world, I consider the day a success. Dinner doesn't have to be gourmet, clothes don't have to match, nothing needs to be exactly on time - approximately will do - and you don't need to be a perfect mother or wife - just one who tries and loves and is content with what she can do. You already exemplify what it took me two kids to try to learn. Good on ya!
